A: Extended Coverage is exclusively for Freightliner and Western Star trucks, and Detroit Engines.

A: You can reference parts covered in each package level at ExtnededOptimum.com. Package component listings are also available at Freightliner and Western Star dealerships.

Q: What types of engines qualify for Extended Coverage?

A: DD5, DD8, DD13, DD15 and DD16 engines may qualify. Plans range from 100,000 miles to 750,000 miles. The time range is 3 to 7 years total coverage time (including base manufacturer warranty period). 

Q: Aside from engine and truck chassis packages, are there coverages for individual systems?

A: Yes, you can purchase “standalone” coverages for DT12 Transmission, Detroit Front and/or Rear Axle, Chassis ATS/DEF, Detroit DPF Exchange, Towing/Roadside Service, Dual Parked HVAC, Climate Control, Cooling System, Starter Alternator, and Wiring.

Q: What are the term options for towing/roadside service?

A: Towing/Roadside Service is a coverage you can add to a Basic/Enhanced/Ultimate package, or purchase as a stand-alone coverage. You have a choice of three reimbursement maximums ($750, $1,200 and $1,800) and there are no limits on the number of eligible tows.

Q: Can I roll the cost of Extended Coverage into my monthly truck payment?

A: Yes, it’s how we help fit a coverage plan to your budget.

Q: What is the eligibility requirement for Extended OPTIMUM coverage?

A: You may be eligible for Extended OPTIMUM if the truck is no longer under base manufacturer warranty and has no existing OEM extended coverage. 

Q: Can I purchase Extended OPTIMUM for all my trucks?

A: Extended OPTIMUM is exclusively for Freightliner and Western Star trucks, and Detroit Engines.

Q: Is my truck too old to qualify for Extended OPTIMUM?

A: You may qualify for Extended OPTIMUM coverage if the truck has less than 7 years/750,000 miles (heavy duty) or less than 7 years/400,000 miles (medium duty). An Inspect and Repair Form is required for all Extended OTPIMUM purchases and is valid for 30 days from the inspection and/or repair date.

Q: What types of engines qualify for Extended OPTIMUM?

A: DD5, DD8, DD13, DD15 and DD16 engines may qualify. The engine must be in its original chassis.

Q: What are the deductibles for Extended OPTIMUM coverage?

A: There are no deductibles, dollar caps or aggregate limits to claims. You spend less out-of-pocket over the long run when compared to third-party coverages.
